The International
Space Environment Conference 2003: Radiation Belt Science, also known as ISEC
2003, is the 8th in a series of international meetings devoted to advancing
our understanding of Earth's space environment and its effects on technology
and on humans in space. Previous meetings were held in Dubna (Russia), Taos,
New Mexico (USA), Brussels (Belgium), The Hague (The Netherlands), Moscow
(Russia), Farnborough (United Kingdom) and Queenstown (New Zealand). The primary
emphasis of ISEC 2003 will be radiation belt science, but papers on
other energetic charged particles and their effects are also encouraged. Topics
to be covered include:
An informal, workshop-style meeting is planned, with plenty of time for discussion and communication. Invited and contributed presentations will be given in oral and poster sessions and there will be time scheduled for group discussion on key research issues and outstanding questions.
